Why We Exist

Why We Exist

As alumni of some of London's great day schools we have an opportunity, some might say duty, to foster the next generation of diverse and talented entrepreneurs.

With time, we hope that a cohort of thriving CAN-backed businesses will contribute to deepening skills and prosperity, spiralling out from where we all started out in West London.

Our goal is to build a virtuous flow of new capital between alumni, founders and schools to fuel innovation, business growth and widen access to transformational education.

Why We Exist

Participating Schools

Our founding angel alumni schools are the independent St Paul's and St Paul's Girls' schools and the state-funded Hammersmith Academy.

Our 'angels' in turn pledge to donate up to 20% of their investment proceeds to supporting the founding missions of the participating schools.

CAN would like to help the schools go beyond their targets towards fully ‘needs-blind’ provision. In addition we would like to see entrance processes evolve that are fully inclusive to talent and neither cost prohibitive nor negatively self-selecting through the arms race of private tutoring.

What We Do

We welcome and curate business opportunities from relevant founders and present them to CAN angels for investment as part of seed, early-stage or growth capital.

Our 'angels' in turn pledge to donate up to 20% of their investment proceeds to supporting the founding missions of the participating schools, through creating bursaries and opportunities for children regardless of their background.

We ask for a 2% transaction fee (capped at £10k) to help cover the costs to create fun and approachable networking settings for alumni of all partner schools to cross paths and collaborate.
